2 Tuna and 3 dorado on June 19, 2010

two yellowfin tuna caught in cabo san lucas

Shown here is Jason Propp, proudly displaying the fruits of a nice mini-tuna bite struck off the coast of Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Jason and Carla Morris bagged the tuna in rapid succession, both reeling in the fish in less than 5 minutes. Not bad. Three small dorado were plucked out individually later in the day, bringing the fish count to 5. There was one large dorado hooked, but he threw the lure almost immediately, before anyone could get a handle on him. On this trip the anglers were Tim Britton, Silvia Rodriguez, Jason Propp, Carla Morris, Jim Mansbridge and Mike Mallett. The Captain was Chino, and Beto was the mate.

3 Tuna caught at San Jaime on May 14, 2010

yellowfin tuna caught in cabo san lucas

Shown here are Ray, his three sons, and their two friends with the spoils of a nice day fishing the San Jaime bank off Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Apparently Ray's 70th birthday present was a trip to Cabo for for golfing and fishing. Not bad. Three nice tuna caught on the Pacific aboard the Reel Slippery Lizzard hopefully made it a little nicer. Happy birthday Ray, you don't look a day over 65!

Paige Bryant with her Jack Crevalle

Virginia Bryant with her Dorado

On April 15, Craig, Alan, Brandon, Virginia, and Page Bryant all went out on the Reel Slippery Lizzard for some deep sea sportfishing. Brandon got a Marlin (his first), Paige a Jack Crevalle (Toro), and Virginia reeled in a nice dorado. Lobo was Captain, Chino mate, and Jim Mansbridge, our official IGFA observer was along as well.

whale watching with Slippery Lizzard Sportfishing

Many thanks to Jim and Karen miller for this great footage of their recent whale watching trip aboard the Reel Slippery Lizzard. The whales seemed to be rather playful that day, almost too playful for one of the pangas!

Steve Preece's first Dorado

Though an avid fisherman with almost every type of fish under his belt, Steve Preece was yet to bag a dorado. Towards the end of the day on Sunday, he hooked a nice 20 lb cow dorado and reeled it in nicely. Well done, Steve.
