2 Marlins and 4 Dorado on 11/24/09

The 104 inch marlin

The following VIDEO and still photos are from the 24th Novemeber aboard the REEL SLIPPERY LIZZARD, our 43 foot Bertram. Jim Britton, Tim Britton, and Jim Mannsbridge were the Anglers, Franscisco was the Gaffer, and LOBO was captain. The guys caught 2 Marlin (both released) and 4 Dorado (1 released). Combined, they consumed 24 Pacificos.

Jim Britton fought his marlin for 40 minutes (see video below). It was measured at 104 inches, once we finally got him on the deck. He was released, having no damage to his gills.

Jim Mannsbridge's marlin had the line caught around his tail, so Jim had to fight him on the surface and bring him in quickly, to prevent the line from damaging the fin. This marlin survived - you can see they quickly popped the leader. It took Jim only 5 minutes or so to fight him into submission (see video below).

The following photos are from the 20th November aboard the REEL SLIPPERY LIZZARD, our 43 foot Bertram. Jim Britton, John Stamp, and some fellas whose names I don't know were the Anglers, Francisco was the Gaffer, and Lobo was captain. The guys caught 1 Marlin and 12 Dorado.

John Stamp fought his marlin for almost an hour. It was measured at 102 inches, once they finally got him on the deck. Unfortunately, the boys weren't able to release the marlin, as it did not survive the fight. This was John's first marlin. Congratulations, John!
